String Department Information

As a string student at WCMS, there are numerous opportunities to participate in recitals, workshops, and special events. In addition to the String Department events listed below, there are additional events open to all WCMS students as well as events for Adult Learners (see our event calendar for more details). WCMS offers private lessons in violin, viola, cello, and upright bass; a Suzuki Violin program (ages 4+), and a number of ensembles that welcome all ages.

“Pajama Jam” for Young String Players

6:00 PM

• Wear Your Pajamas and Jam!
• Casual chance to play for other young string students
• Perform piece in progress or polished piece
• Perform entire piece or a smaller section from a piece
• Age: 5-12 years old
• No audience, only performers
• Sign up by Friday, November 15

Audition Workshop

6:00 PM

• Learn valuable tips for auditions
• Receive personal feedback from judges
• Sign up by Friday, April 4
• Dress Code: Concert attire (dresses, dress shirt and pants, dress shoes. No jeans, gym pants or sneakers)
