Registration is Now Open! Spring Semester 2025
More than 50 years ago, a Japanese violinist and educator named Shinichi Suzuki began to apply the basic principles of language acquisition to the learning of music. This concept made it possible to teach young children to play an instrument in as natural a way as they learn to speak. By integrating listening, a nurturing environment, and parent participation, the Suzuki approach combines a method for teaching music with a philosophy that embraces the total development of the child.
Benefits of the Suzuki Method include:
Children can begin Suzuki lessons as early as age 4, depending upon faculty recommendation. Our Suzuki program includes one weekly private lesson and one weekly group class.
Parents and students will participate in a pre-program orientation, including activities that introduce the basics of playing piano and the philosophy of the Suzuki Method.
