Financial Aid
Winchester Community Music School wants to make the joy of music instruction available to all students. With nearly 900 students and a teaching staff of 60 professional musicians, WCMS provides a wide variety of music instruction to residents of Winchester and surrounding towns. Through the generosity of our donors, tuition assistance is available.
- Tuition assistance can be awarded to students of all ages and levels.
- Currently, our student enrollment ranges in age from 2 to 100.
- Whether it is music and movement classes for toddlers, or ensembles for senior citizens, many students have enjoyed their WCMS musical experience through the Tuition Assistance program.
- Tuition Assistance can be applied to all WCMS classes including group programs.
- Awards range from 20% to 50%, and sometimes more in cases of extreme hardship.
- All information is confidential.
- Every application is reviewed on its own merits.
- Awards are granted at the discretion of the Executive Director and the Financial Aid Committee through an anonymous and confidential review process.
WCMS encourages qualified students to apply for assistance. Child/youth applicants and adult seniors are given priority. Satisfactory student attendance and a positive attitude are prerequisites for returning students and expected for all students. Awards of more than 50% are unusual but may be considered in cases of exceptional need. Applicants not meeting the application deadlines and requirements may not be eligible for tuition assistance during that semester. Please call 781-721-2950 for more information.
