With a passion for piano, Yerim Kang brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her role as a piano faculty member, collaborative pianist, and music educator. Guided by her mother, Yerim’s musical journey began at the age of 5 in Seoul, Korea, and she went on to study in London at the Royal Academy of Music and Guildhall School of Music and Drama. It is Yerim’s fundamental belief that music touches the good in us and brings out the best in us, and she strives to inspire her students while creating an enriching learning environment.
Since moving to the United States in 2007, Yerim has worked extensively both as an accomplished pianist and a dedicated educator. She has broad experience teaching in the classroom as well as private lessons, and many of Yerim’s students have participated in festivals and competitions and won prizes there. As a teaching artist for the Urban Voices Program of the Metropolitan Opera Guild of New York, Yerim conducted choral classes and orchestrated concert rehearsals for students in grades K-3. Her collaboration with school teachers in designing curriculum maps and lesson plans showcased her commitment to providing a comprehensive and well-rounded music education.
In addition to her teaching roles, Yerim is a pianist/organist at Old South Presbyterian Church in Newburyport and at Boston College.
