Music Together Generations is a mixed-age music class held offsite at the Gables in Winchester. Kids and their grownups visit their “Musical Grandfriends” and spend time making music as a large extended family.
WCMS offers small group music classes for toddlers, kids, teens, and adults.
For children age 5. This two-semester class combines Dalcroze Eurhythmics instruction with singing and playing small percussion instruments and melodica.
Most students begin Suzuki violin instruction between 4 and 8 years old. Learning to play violin using the Suzuki method provides students with an in-depth learning experience that combines individual lessons and group classes. A unique feature of the Suzuki program is that the parent is actively involved in the learning process, and attends all lessons, group classes, and recitals with the child and supervises the home practice.
Children can begin Suzuki lessons for piano or violin as early as age 4, depending upon faculty recommendation. The Suzuki approach combines a method for teaching music with a philosophy that embraces the total development of the child. By integrating listening, a nurturing environment, and parent participation, young children learn to play music in the same organic way that they learn language.
Most students begin Suzuki piano instruction between 4 1/2 and 8 years old. The Suzuki Piano program provides young children with a natural, immersive method for learning piano. A unique aspect of the Suzuki program is the high level of parent involvement. Each student works closely with a parent – both at home and in the classroom – attending all lessons and classes together.
Give your child the advantage of learning the fundamentals of music by learning to us their first instrument…the voice! Using Dalcroze Eurhythmics movement and ear-training, students will unlock their own musical talent and confidence to be creative, expressive, and musically literate.
The First Steps in Music curriculum is designed to prepare children to become musical through a variety of songs, activities, games, and rhymes.
