Steel Drum Ensemble

Steel Drum Ensemble (Teens & Adults)

Be a founding member of the Winchester Steel Drum Ensemble! This new ensemble class is a collaboration between Winchester Community Music School and Winchester Recreation Department. It is open to teens and adults (ages 12 and up), with no musical experience required.

We’ll learn traditional Caribbean and popular songs while also learning about the music and history of the island of Trinidad, the birthplace of the steel drum (also known as steel pan). Everyone will get to try the different types of steel drums in the ensemble.

Our ensemble will perform at local community spring and summer events such as Music MAYnia, Winchester Town Day, and Porchfest. Enrollment is limited to just 6 participants unless you can provide your own steel drum to bring to the class.
