Theory & Composition Class (Middle School – Adults)
Instrumental and vocal technique flourish when the skills of musicianship are acquired independently of private lessons. Theory classes are a must for the developing musician. Music theory is offered in two different classes: Fundamentals and Solfege & Rhythm. Sections will be formed based on interest and age/level.
Private lessons in music theory/composition are available upon request.
Learn about all written music theory—scales, key signatures, intervals, triads, and meters. We will also include some aural skills such as hearing of major and minor, augmented, and diminished harmonies, intervals, and triads.
Solfege and Rhythm
Improve your sight reading, sight singing, an dictation skills with the study of "movable DO" solfege. Rhythmic reading and dictation included. Develop your musicianship away from your instrument.
