Ready, Set, Play! (Ages 7-10)
"It is not enough to train just the mind or the ear or the voice; the enitre human body must be trained, since the body contains the essentials for the development of performance." - Emile Jaques-Dalcroze, from Rhythm, Music and Education
For first-time music students AND young vocalists and instrumentalists!
Is your child new to music education? This class is perfect for older children who are planning to learn an instrument for the first time. This "accelerated" Dalcroze Eurhythmics class will give new students a wonderful introduction and help them develop coordination, ear-training, and rhythmic skills that will give them an advantage in their future music lessons. Eurhythmics helps students "speak" the language before working with the mechanics of an instrument.
Is your child a young vocalist or instrumentalist? This class is for you, too! Dalcroze Eurhythmics enriches a student's musical knowledge and helps develop a wide range of skills and abilities. Ear-training and rhythm exercises and games—combined with writing and reading music—will enhance a student's musical readiness.
Limited to 10 participants.
This class runs both fall and spring semesters. Fall semester students can continue into spring; each semester will offer new activities. New students can also join in spring.
Fall semester begins: The week of September 11, 2017
Tuition: $360 (16 classes)
