Intro to Guitar (for Children and Adults)

WCMS's Intro to Guitar classes teach you how to play guitar in a fun, relaxed group setting. Our experienced, patient, and caring guitar staff will have you making music in no time!

Intro to Guitar (Ages 6-9)

Join our beginning guitar class for kids and get hooked on guitar! Young students will learn on 1/2-size acoustic guitars - they'll be learning simple chords and songs in no time. Classes meet weekly for a total of 8 weeks. After the introductory eight-week session, students can move into a second level class, learning more advanced chord fingerings and exploring a broader repertoire of material. Depending on interest, the group can continue with additional levels of beginning guitar. More advanced students can transition at any time to private instruction.

Students must have a guitar for the class - and for practicing! We recommend purchasing a guitar, since buying a beginner-level instrument is nearly the same cost as renting. These are quality instruments at 1/2 scale that are a good investment and can be used for years. We recommend purchasing from Johnson String Instrument, and WCMS students receive a 10% discount.
