I grew up in a house filled with music. My mother is a piano teacher, and lessons were always going on. By the time I was six, I had learned not only my own lessons, but all of my Mom’s students’ as well! Growing up in a household like that, I saw firsthand the impact music lessons had on children of all ages. Persistence, commitment, dedication – these are lifelong qualities I strive to instill in my own students.

Piano lessons should be fun! I love to get to know my students through musical games with which we explore both the fun of learning new skills, and also how music communicates the composers’ message to us. Children grow up so fast, but it never seems faster to me than when they develop their piano skills right before my eyes, and always with the laughter and joy that they are so full of.

I received both my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Piano Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music. I love to play music with other musicians, and have given collaborative performances at many places including Rhode Island College, All-Newton Music School, and the Longy School of Music as well as here at Winchester Community Music School. This year, I will be performing at the Boston Conservatory of Music and for LiveArts in Franklin, Massachusetts.
