Dalcroze for Young Musicians (Ages 10 +) New!
"It is not enough to train just the mind or the ear or the voice; the enitre human body must be trained, since the body contains the essentials for the development of performance." - Emile Jaques-Dalcroze, from Rhythm, Music and Education
Developing musicianship through movement!
Dalcroze Eurhythmics is an educational method that helps music students of all ages to integrate abstract muscial concepts. It utilizes rhythmic movement; ear training; and physical, vocal, and instrumental improvisation to develop the coordination between physical motion and the ear, something that musicians need in order to play an instrument well.
This class is recommended for students age 10 and above who have played an instrument for 2-3 years and can read music. Using their instruments and Eurhythmics activities, students will work on rhythm skills as well as develop their musical ears and voice by learning solfege and ensemble skills.
This is a full-year class, and is limited to 10 participants.
